eQuotation                                             Return to eTFP

BOA + RFQ + Data = QTO

Quotation

The Quotation is the seller’s quotation to the buyer for the price of goods and services the buyer requested in his Request for Quotation. The Quotation is used as the formal response to the buyer of prices and delivery times. It stays in effect for enough time for the buyer to issue a purchase order.

eQuotation Trade Function

The eQuotation (QTO) is the electronic document equivalent of the Quotation.  It is created using the same information generated by the seller.  It is used for electronic presentation of a quotation.

Discussion

The QTO prices are based on the terms and conditions agreed to in the Basic Ordering Agreement.  There may be multiple BOAs for different methods of payment and different modes of transportation, and the Quotation is based on a specific BOA that reflects those terms.
